This verse presents the Holy Spirit as a Helper whose role is to continue guiding believers by teaching them all things and bringing to mind everything Jesus said. It tells us the Spirit will deepen understanding and prompt recall of Jesus’ teachings, so followers can learn and apply His words even after Jesus has left. This makes the Spirit an ongoing source of instruction and memory for the church, helping believers grasp truth and remember Jesus’ message when they need it. While the Spirit’s broader ministry in the gospel includes other functions, the emphasis here is clearly on teaching and reminding of Jesus’ words, which is why this choice fits best.
